Director: Gigi Thiele
Gigi Thiele is no stranger to the French Teaching Community in Western Australia, having taught primary and secondary French in government and non-government schools over a period of over 20 years. Gigi was on the Syllabus Committee/CAC from 1987 – 2010 and has passionately adapted to each curriculum change, seeking to support and encourage others along the way. As a practitioner, Gigi enjoyed being an oral examiner and written marker for the TEE/WACE/ATAR. Gigi was on the writing panel for the exam for 6 years and held the role of Chief Marker. In addition, she was on the Stage 2 exam writing panel. |

She was a founding member of TOFA and held various executive positions, as well as being active on the MLTAWA Committee as newsletter editor, secretary and president. Gigi spent 10 years on the WA/La Réunion Student Exchange Committee, being an accompanying teacher and then the Leader, twice, and holding various executive positions. She has presented papers and workshops at TOFA’s Stage à la Plage many times, as well as at AFMLTA Conferences; and State Conferences in Tasmania, New South Wales and Victoria.
Gigi was the Group Leader for three Endeavour Language Fellowships to France, interpreted at the Sydney Olympic Games, the International Council of Women’s General Assembly Conference and last year, completed the translation into English of her family history dating back 18 generations to the mid-1400s.
While at Christ Church Grammar School, Gigi established a sister school relationship in Les Arcs; and another in Nice, while at All Saints’ College; before moving into a Deputy Principal role and then the role of founding Principal of a Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education School, before being the Director of School operation, overseeing 20 campuses across WA.
Gigi is excited to return to her first love of all things French, writing exams and looking forward to working with teachers to develop curriculum materials to support them and their students in any way she can.

Co-Founder: Brigitte Blunsdon
French-born and raised, Brigitte Blunsdon (BA, DipEd) followed her heart to Western Australia and completed her tertiary education in languages and teaching at Edith Cowan University. Brigitte speaks and teaches French and Spanish, and is also qualified to teach English as a second language. Her teaching career spans 21 years in the primary, secondary and TAFE education systems. Co-Founder: Tania Christie
Tania Christie (BA, DipEd) has 20+ years French teaching experience in Western Australian primary and secondary schools plus a decade of working with Education Perfect bringing online learning to teachers and schools around the world. Primarily passionate about teaching French to all (K-12; adult), Tania is now also exploring her newfound passion to bring Financial Literacy education to young women. Her qualifications include the DELF (Diplôme d´études en langue française) and the DALF (Diplôme approfondi de langue française), the only qualifications accredited by the French Ministry of Education for French as a foreign language. Brigitte, Tania and Gigi are all honoured to be recipients of the TOFA WA Marie-Louise Laurent Award.
Brigitte was rewarded with an Outstanding Professional Service Award in 2018 and Gigi in 2008.
